How Can You Trust Someone When You Don’t Remember Them?
In the newest episode of Syfy’s Alphas “Falling” Kat finally gets her chance to go out in the field and test herself as an agent. Her ability allows her to download any action in to her brain so-to-speak just by watching it once. Its the side-effect that interests me. Being able to ingest vast amounts of information so completely means that her brain dumps everything older than about a month. That reminded me of one of my favorite movies “Memento”. Although the cause of his memory loss, Trauma, was different the result was the same. Leonard from Memento and Kat from Alphas both struggle with maintaining their memory. He had to take swift action because he would only remember until he went to sleep. Memory issues leave you very susceptible to manipulation. How do you trust people if you can’t remember anything about them? He used notes, Polaroid pics, and tattoos in an attempt to keep his life in order. I wonder how Kat will attempt to resurrect or retain memories. She has already started writing things down. Dr. Rosen even gave her a method to video record whatever she wants in a previous episode. Kat is proving to be an interesting addition to the Alphas team.

I had a good laugh when Kat said she had watched episodes of NY Undercover in preparation for her undercover work. ( A show that Malik Yoba starred in the 90’s).
